Welcome to the Unicron.com 2001 TF Section.  What an interesting year it was!  In, roughly, the first half, we received many new Beast Machines toys with the sub-title: "Battle for the Spark." They're exactly what B.Machines fans had been hoping for, having a more show-accurate look.  In the second half of the year, Hasbro unveiled Transformers: Robots in Disguise; a return to the "G1" roots of Transformers, which we'll discuss in more detail below.  But first...

The following is a list of the Beast Machines "Battle for the Spark" figures released in 2001 shown in order of least to most expensive.

Robots in Disguise was launched in the summer of 2001 and promised a return to the more "G1 roots" of Transformers.  While these toys were arguably some of the best TF figures ever released in the U.S., their connection to the rest of the TF universe remains debatable.  (See the media section to the left for a discussion of how the RID storyline may or may not coincide with other TF stories.)  The toys consisted primarily of re-issued versions of the Japanese Transformers line, "Carrobots."  However there were exceptions.  Figures like the the second wave Spychangers, Bruticus... are examples of figures entirely new to the U.S. line.
