Transformers of 1990

This was the final year that new Transformers would be known as "Generation 1." All future incarnations of the Transformers would have new sub-titles like TF: Generation 2, Beast Wars/Machines, RID, Armada... While 1990 is certainly not considered by most a fan favorite, it is nonetheless, "G1." The year began with all new Micromaster patrols, bases & combiner vehicle teams.

After the Micromasters, fans were treated to the "ActionMasters!" At the time, we thought it would mean the end of all Transformers! And it practically was, until Transformers made a modest comeback as "Generation2," two years later! Action Masters lacked the pazaz their name implied. They were Transformers -that didn't transform! and most fans weren't fond of them. Yet despite this, their prices remain relatively high. Why? Simple collector economics: They sold poorly, so Hasbro didn't make many of them. Low supply and a growing demand among "complete-ists" results in higher prices! I once had an offer to trade 3 different MIB Japanese combiner-sets for a loose ActionMaster Megatron! Seriously! Well here they are, the Transformers of 1990, as usual listed in order as seen in the collector pad CHECKLIST, Autobots first, then Decepticons!
