"You ain't heard nothin' yet!"

Character description from package "tech spec":  Soundwave has only been around for a little while, but he knows that if there's one thing he loves, it's noise!  Sound is like clay that he sculpts to his purpose.  the more noise there is around him, the more elaborate he can get in how he uses it.  He can imitate voices, make humans fall asleep, and even take control of simple robots with sound.  He hopes the Autobots are ready, because he's about to rock them harder than they've ever been rocked before!

Galactic Powers and Abilities:
> Sonic attacks can fry circuitry.
> Sonic shielding can deflect attacks.
> Laserbeak can acoustically hack any computer

Other appearances:  Considering how he is among the most popular characters in all of Transformers mythology, he has made surprisingly few reappearances.
* 1984 the G1 original turned into a mini cassette player.  Part of what makes him so endearing, is how dated this concept is.  Does the average unicron.com site visitor know what a cassette player is, much less ever owned one?!
* 1987 decoy Soundwave.
* 1990 Action Master Soundwave
* 1995 G2 "Gobots" Soundwave
* 1997 Machine Wars Soundwave
* 2000 Beast Wars Mutant Soundwave
* 2004 Universe Soundwave (a recolor of the Machine Wars Soundwave sold with Space case)
* 2006 Cybertron Soundwave
* 2007 Titanium  6" Soundwave
* 2008 Animated Soundwave
* 2009 Transformers Movie writer Robert Orci has confirmed that Soundwave will appear in the 2009 summer Blockbuster, Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen.

Bibliography of significant appearances:  To date, Soundwave has appeared in only one Transformers episode, # Sound and Fury .  However Soundwave fans should not despair just yet.  At one of several panels at Botcon 2007, Animated author Marty Isenberg stated he has, "big plans for Soundwave" in Animated Season 3!  Stay tuned!

For your, all-things-Soundwave-viewing-pleasure, we thought you might enjoy some original concept art, drawn by Transformers Comics artist superstar, Don Figueroa.  Although this was done a few years prior to the development of Animated Soundwave, you can see how many of these concepts for Soundwave took shape.
