First Comic Appearance: Transformers Animated:
None in this form (as of the date this page was most recently published)
"Crush the Autobots!"
We wish to extend a special thanks to Cartoon Network PR Department for providing
us with official character bios and information.
MEGATRON is a fierce, unyielding despot who sees himself as a freedom fighter. He sees the DECEPTICONS as an oppressed race suffering under the tyranny of the AUTOBOTS. The DECEPTICONS must survive by any means necessary. He takes extreme pleasure in the suffering of even a single Autobot. And MEGATRON does not care at all for the collateral damage known as humans who might happen to stand in his way. He has the zeal of a fanatic and demands the unquestioning loyalty of those who serve him.
Robot Mode Power: MEGATRON begins the series with only one power: the power to lie and manipulate Sumdac to repair and reconstruct him. Over time, the MEGATRON head will develop into a powerful psychokinetic who can control any machine. While the Cybertronian minds are too advanced to succumb to this ability, MEGATRON can control virtually any robot on Earth and the automated plants that construct them. In addition to this power, MEGATRON’s eventual robot body will be equipped with an assortment of laser cannons, sonic missiles and pulse blasters.
Vehicle Mode Appearance: Earth Mode Attack Hellicopter Character description from package "tech spec": Now
that he has finally ben able to build a body for himself, Megatron is more powerful than ever, and no force on Earth can
stand against him. He is a fighter without equal anywhere in the universe. Backed up by his Decepticon
soldiers, he is also an expert battle leader, without peer. He is as ruthless as he is ambitious. Megatron
will stop at nothing to gain the AllSpark, and destroy Optimus Prime and his Autobots. Galactic Powers and Abilities:
> Expert two-sword fighter
> Genius-level engineer and programmer.
> Armor can deflect even focust anti-proton lasers.
Bibliography
of significant appearances: In this form, with (Earth mode helicopter) his Cybertronian Alternate mode, he made only a few appearances, most
notably in the Transformers Animated movie introduction:
Transform and Roll Out. Of
course, it was this form's decapitated head which featured so prominently in the series until his return with Earth mode
helicopter.
Other
appearances:
Don't
hold your breath as we get through this, because this could take awhile!
- 1984 - his
original toy form so incredibly [email protected]$$ it is actually an illegal toy in the U.S. as an
exact replica of a real firearm, the Walter P-38 handgun. Since he was reformatted into Galvatron by Unicron in
TFTM, he
made shockingly few other appearances in the G1 series.
- 1987 - as a
decoy
- 1990 - in
Action Master form
- 1993 - Generation 2 (G2)
green and purlple tank, surprisingly, it was his first vehicle

- 1995 - a very uncool "

Magmatron, also a reasonable facsimile but still
not quite Megatron.
- 2000 - Yet another close-but-not-quite was "
Mechatron" Beast Riders in Beast Machines and
Beast Machines
(Mega class) Megatron.
- 2001 - Here's an interesting case! His name in the show was
"Savage" in dragon mode, and "Noble" in wolf mode, and the toy is called, "
Beast Changer." But really, he *is*
Megatron! Then, later that same year came the first 6-changer
Megatron in R.I.D. Transformers. Wow what a toy!
- 2002 - In the fist half of the year was a toy with limited
release. It's
Beast Machines 'floating head' Megabolt Megatron,
sold in R.I.D. packaging (Hey, we'll take it!) With the beginning of what fans would later dub, "The Unicron
Trilogy" came
Armada Megatron.
- 2003 - amazingly, not a single toy named Megatron!
- 2004 - Energon
Optimus vs. Megatron 2-pack

Energon Megatron. In the Japan-only series
"Robot Masters" there was
Beast Megatron.

Cybertron Megatron (Leader Class)
