| Profile: Love
compassion, mercy are words that have no meaning for Megatron. He has risen to the
leadership of the Deceptions by a combination of brute strength, military cunning,
ruthlessness, and terror. On Cybertron he was commanding general in charge of all
military operations against the Autobots, who referred to him as "The Slag
Maker." It was a title of fear, a title of respect, a title Megatron
relished. His banishment to Earth has only made him more
bitter and more evil minded, if that's possible. He aches to return to
Cybertron and complete his mission of eradicating
the Autobots. But while on
Earth he is dedicated to eliminating those Autobots marooned here with him and his plans
go far beyond that. He realizes the Earth is a huge stockpile of metal and
Energon resources and means to possess it all, with the aid of his fellow Deceptions.
But
his plans go even further, plans so grandiose even his fellow Deceptions are
unaware: Megatron intends to enslave the entire human race, control
Cybertron and be the uncontested ruler of the universe.
Abilities: Megatron is incredibly powerful & intelligent, the equal of Autobot Leader Optimus Prime. His fusion cannon can convert any small amount of matter into large quantities of explosive nuclear energy. The cannon can fire a blast up to 12 miles & release enough energy to flatten a small town. He can use his circuitry to connect the cannon interdimensionally with a black hole, where it can draw on anti-matter as its power source. The blast from this is greater, but it creates a tremendous strain to do this for even one blast. Weaknesses: Megatron has no known weaknesses. |

| Other appearances: The original Megatron endured a mighty reign. Having taken part in at least some parts of the beginning of the Autobot-Decepticon conflict on Cybertron millions of years ago. After the crash landing and subsequent reawakening on earth aboard the Ark, he continued to lead the Decepticons throughout the battles told in the G1 cartoon series, seasons 1-2. He went on to conquer all of Cybertron by the year 2005, which unbelievably, is a story that still has not been told! (Hint, hint Dreamwave!) In the "Great War of 2005" Megatron was reformatted by Unicron, into Galvatron, a ruthless leader even less sane!. Following that, he must have reverted to his previous name-self and took the form of an Action Master in 1990. Remarkably, this was the only two forms he took as his 'G1 self.' Following that, he made numerous forms in the Generation 2 era. In 1993 he took the very popular green tank. (Sorry, no character page yet.) In 1994 a purple air missile launching tank. In 1995 a very un-megatron looking white 'go-bots' car form. The Beast Wars started in 1996. Well, that is, the first BW toys were released then! It's important to understand that the "Megatron" in Beast Wars is a different individual with the same name as the original G1 character. The original Megatron made his first Beast Wars appearance in the season 2 finale Agenda , part 2 when (Beast Wars) Megatron revealed his "agenda" to Ravage as being the instructions of the original Megatron! What a GREAT plot! The next major appearance of the original Megatron in Beast Wars was in the season 3 episode "Master Blaster." BW Meg says, "Ah Megatron! Greatest leader of the Decepticons. ~picture, picture, picture, picture~ Your's is the first chapter in the history of our race. A chapter which is about to be re-witten!" If you've seen the episode you know what happens next! If you haven't, then I'm not tellin! What an absolutely great moment in Transformers history! To the best of my recollection, the original Megatron was not seen or mentioned in Beast Machines, though there were several more characters with the same name. (This was the Beast Wars Megatron character evolved into new forms) The original Megatron did not make any appearances in Beast Machines, BUT it was widely speculated that his spark was not returned at the end of Beast Wars and so that's what caused the vehicon controlled Cybertron in Beast Machines. That is not the case and was actually addressed on its own page written by BMach writer Bob Skir. Click the link here to read "G1 Megatron spark clarification." There are of course several Megatron and Galvatron characters of TF:Armada and TF Energon. However, following my theory of continuity, these are the same Megatron and Optimus characters who will later become the Optimus Primal and Megatron and go back in time to fight the Beast Wars and into the future to fight in the Beast Machines story arc. Hey, why not? they have the same voice and it could be explained this way!! 1984: original
